The Hidden Geek

So this subject might be a little touchy but i feel it needs to be told. I was talking with a friend about a week or so ago and i told her a little bit of God. I'm not sure how the conversation began but we started talking about religion and how we both are not into religion and how we view God. Well my friend (let's say her name is Sarah) started telling me that God is love and she believes that her relationship with God is a good relationship. So i started explaining to her that God is not only love but He is also Holy. She agrees to this so i go on. I tell her that God is perfect and when the Angels in heaven should praise to God, they don't shout "God is love, God is love, God is love!" or even that God is righteous. They shout "HOLY, HOLY, HOLY IS THE GOD ALMIGHTY!" This of course she agrees with and we continue our chat. Everything you do and everything you watch or say or play has an affect on your life. I can't tell you how many times i have heard "it's just a song" or "everybody does it", "what's so bad about it?" and so on. I'm telling you this because i know many who play video games or listen to bad music (meaning non-Christian music) who say they are Christians but they think it's fine. Everything is "fine" if you live for the world or if you compare the things you do to what others do. Then of course you can say "well that person does this... And that person does that... At least i'm not doing this..." those are the worlds thoughts. "You are what you eat". This also applies to "you are what you do" or "you are what you watch" and so on. Have you ever had those struggling times when you are not sure whats going on and what you must do? I'm actually going through one of those right now. Everything seems to be against me and I can't seem to find a way out of it. I try and try but nothing helps. I am actually still searching for what is right and what is wrong with everything I do in life in my day to day walk with Christ. It's hard and frustrating something and there are days when you feel like Christ has left you all alone and you must figure everything out on your own. We try and try but can't find that peace in our own hearts. We scream and lash out at God because we think He doesn't hear us and we cry out to Him because we want His attention. Now i'm not saying that God doesn't hear us or that our walk with Christ is going to be easy. In fact, our walk with Christ is the HARDEST thing we can ever do. I was talking to a co-worker today and he told me that I was good. (A good person) I then quoted to him "There is none good, no not one" referring to the Bible verse:  "No one is righteous, no, not one." Romans 3:10 He then responds with "you don't think you are good?" I relied with "no. I'm not." He proceeds to ask me "Then you don't think anyone is good?" "No one is good, only the Father is good. God is good" I continue with "I can even go through the commandments with you to show you." I didn't go through the commandments with him but he understood my point already. He still replied with "Well, you're a good person by human standards" I just laughed at his remark to keep complimenting.  We talked a little more about God and how it is important to do the right things. I say "love yourself" because often we don't love ourselves. In fact, some may not know this but they hate themselves. Some don't think they hate themselves but in reality, they do. Have you ever heard the quote "you can't love others if you don't love yourself". It's true. How can a person say to someone else that they love them if they don't love themselves? If i don't love myself, then i don't respect myself. And to love oneself is to respect oneself and to not want harm to come to oneself. Let me ask you this.     If you care for someone, do you want harm to come to them? Or do you want them to be safe? Well the answer should be obvious. You would want that person out of harms way. So check and see if you love yourself. If you know that you don't then here's a little thing you can try to help you to start loving yourself because Jesus loves you and you should too. I don't write blogs too much but i just wanted to tell each and everyone reading this. You are loved by the creator of the earth. The Lord Almighty is calling out to everyone of you. He wants to have a lasting relationship with you. He wants to hold you in his arms and love you like a father loves his child. Now some of you out there will say that you don't need God or that you don't believe in a God that created the world. This message is out there for the world to hear, to read, to listen and to bring those lost lambs back home again. I pray constantly for those who have left God. Some may think it strange and others may laugh at my intentions but God has not left you so why should i stop praying for you? Why should i go on living in his presence and not pray for those who don't know him? Is it not His intention to bring his children back to him? He loves you and so he sacrificed his one and only son to die on the cross for you and for me so that we can be...

     I needed to get to a dentist appointment on wednesday but i'm very bad with roads. So i decided to use my gps on my phone to help me.      I set up my gps and started driving. Now usually when you drive with a gps, you place the gps in a place where you can glance at it from time to time to make sure you are going the right way or to see when the next turn will be. Most of us do this subconsciously even though the gps will tell us where to go. We honestly just need to listen to the gps instead of glancing at it for it to guide us.      But this time i decided to hide the gps from my view and just listen to the directions it tells me. Just a fun challenge for the day to make things a little more interesting.      While i was driving and curious as to where that gps would say to turn next or how much more i had to drive on the same road, i was also calling out to God in my mind.      I was calling to...
