Where Is Your God? Poem #4
"Help" they yell and cry out to the Lord.
"Save us" they scream at the top of their throats.
"Where are you?" they ask my Lord above Lords.
"Where is your hand?" the poor coming forth.
"Well where is your Lord? What good has he done?
How can you believe when there's no proof to be found?
You share of your stories and testimonies too.
You tell us he's good and helps those who are true.
But we see not Lord or God up above.
So where is his hand when you fall to the ground?"
Let me tell you where he is and what he has done.
What wonders he makes and the things he has won.
He does help the poor and the broken at heart.
He sets captives free by the blood of his son.
He sacrificed much to be with us one.
To give us the freedom that we all truly want.
He gives us the light each day and in the dark.
He guides my feet when im weary and weak.
His presence is better than the fruit of the trees.
He heals the sick and the unbeliever believes.
He casts out demons from the sinners as they weep.
Those who come to him are his and truly loved.
He guards us with angels that he sends from above.
How can you say "there's no God, his hand is not found?" when all you do is push him and toss him around?
Ill tell you why you never see miracles. Why you cant see the light in the stormy cold nights.
You push God away, your unbelief makes you gray.
God cant work miracles is he's dumped far away.
You tell God to leave and he does for you say
"Ill do this myself, no God is up there."
You give yourself credit and never do you pray, for God to come running back your way.
Your pride is too deep and your head held firmly high.
And then you wonder if he's all just a lie.
Humble yourselves and believe in the Lord.
He can change your heart if you follow him whole.
Listen for him and pray that he comes.
And when he shows up, do not shut your hard hearts.
Amen.
