Understanding the phrase "WWJD"
I know many of you have heard of "WWJD" (What Would Jesus Do?). But in all honesty, how many times do you actually think this phrase and act accordingly?
Do you actually think of this phrase before doing something that might be bad?
I can tell you that most of us won't do this and we don't care for repeating this phrase before doing/watching/listening or playing something. We just think "oh that was a different time He in."
That statement though it is true can be very tricky.
Well let me ask you this.
Do you know what sin is?
Can you explain to someone what sin is without quoting the 10 commandments?
Well let me explain what sin is.
Sin is not WHAT you do, but instead WHO you do it against.
Here's an example:
Let's say we take a lie. Now a lie doesn't seem so bad right? We all lie.
So let's say you lie to a little 5 year old kid. What can that child do to you?
Nothing! They have no authority to do anything.
Now let's say you are married and you lie to your husband or wife. What will happen?
Well people get divorced for lies.
So let's say you lie to a little 5 year old kid. What can that child do to you?
Nothing! They have no authority to do anything.
Now let's say you are married and you lie to your husband or wife. What will happen?
Well people get divorced for lies.
Ok so let's now say that you lied to your boss. What will happen then?
You could get fired for lying.
You could get fired for lying.
Now let's put you in a court room with a judge. Let's say you lie to the judge. What will he do?
He has the authority to toss you into jail.
He has the authority to toss you into jail.
So from this example you can see that the more authority a person has, the bigger the punishment.
But what if you look at God? Now God has never lied or cheated or sinned at all because He is Holy and without sin. If you lied to God, He who is perfect, can toss you into the burning hell for all eternity.
So it's not WHAT you do but WHO you do it against that matters.
So i say watch your steps everywhere you go. A holy man/woman will keep cleaning him/or herself with each day to become more and more like Christ.
We need to be that Holy person that keeps learning and coming closer to Jesus so we can be more like Jesus and He will shine through us.
We want people to see Jesus in us through what do, act, say, and over, how we are. If people look at us and know we are followers of Christ but they see we are stubborn and rude and gossip and ate our co-workers or people around us, how will the glorify God because of us?
I don't think that person will ever want to get to now God if they see how miserable and mean and unloving we are.
We are ambassadors for Christ. It's about time we started acting like it.
So all you who know that they don't look at all like Jesus, go to him right now and repent for your sins with all your heart. Turn from it and
"Repent and be Baptized everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins and you shall receive the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38
Let's get back to what we should have been like from the beginning. Next time you see "WWJD" written on a shirt or wall or online, think it over carefully and don't run from it. Carefully think and ask Jesus "what would you do?" and act according to his word. It's not always easy, but it's well worth it to show people that "Yes, Christ is my savior and H Does Live In Me!!"
Blessing and Peace be with you all in Jesus name! Amen!!
