When you meet God

I was talking to a co-worker today and he told me that I was good. (A good person)
I then quoted to him "There is none good, no not one" referring to the Bible verse:
"No one is righteous, no, not one." Romans 3:10

He then responds with "you don't think you are good?"
I relied with "no. I'm not."
He proceeds to ask me "Then you don't think anyone is good?"
"No one is good, only the Father is good. God is good"
I continue with "I can even go through the commandments with you to show you."

I didn't go through the commandments with him but he understood my point already. He still replied with "Well, you're a good person by human standards"

I just laughed at his remark to keep complimenting.
We talked a little more about God and how it is important to do the right things. My co-worker then (like most people) started commenting on how he respects what others believe in saying "I like what you believe, what you believe is good and what others believe is what they believe. I think its good"

He asked me if I believe in people believing what they like to be good. I had to be honest and say "I don't like it if they are wrong in what they believe."

That answer kind of gave him something to think about so I continued because I saw he was a little skeptical about my response. "Lot's of people know something is true. (for example God). People know God is real. I know God is real. I can tell someone that God is real. How do I know? Because I have felt his presence so I know." I then continued with a story that i heard from someone else. It goes a little like this:

Let's say there was a hot stove and your dad told you not to touch the hot stove because it was hot. You say you won't touch it and then your dad leave. Once he is gone, you wonder "hmm... is this stove really hot?" so you touch the stove and realize it is really hot. Then one day a friend who has never touched the hot stove tells you to touch the stove but you say "no". Your friend thinks you are stubborn and asks why and then you reply with "because it's hot".

I used this short story to describe what it's like when you meet God. Once you meet God in your life, you don't just believe He is real but instead you KNOW He is real. You have felt His presence in your life and it's not only faith that guides you but the knowledge that He is real and He is with you.

You can go around trying to explain what you have experienced with others but they will think you are crazy or stubborn because you don't want to admit that God is not real or that what you felt/experienced was not really God. But now you know, you don't go living by thinking "maybe God is real" but instead you live by "I know God is real".

How many of you have experienced God in your life and have truly met God? I have! Plenty of times. He has even healed people right before my very eyes when I prayed. I can tell you about that story another time.

Ask God to show himself to you and seek him with everything you have and He will show up. He wants to show you so much if you let Him. God Bless you all and I hope my stories encourage you every time you read them! :)
