Love yourself

I say "love yourself" because often we don't love ourselves. In fact, some may not know this but they hate themselves. Some don't think they hate themselves but in reality, they do.
Have you ever heard the quote "you can't love others if you don't love yourself".
It's true. How can a person say to someone else that they love them if they don't love themselves?

If i don't love myself, then i don't respect myself. And to love oneself is to respect oneself and to not want harm to come to oneself.

Let me ask you this.
    If you care for someone, do you want harm to come to them? Or do you want them to be safe?

Well the answer should be obvious. You would want that person out of harms way.
So check and see if you love yourself. If you know that you don't then here's a little thing you can try to help you to start loving yourself because Jesus loves you and you should too.

Get a notebook or a piece of paper and a pen.
Start making a list of all the good qualities you have. If you can't think of any, ask a friend or someone to do it for you.
Now read the paper.
Everytime you feel depressed or sad or you want harm to come to you, read that paper. Make sure to have it on you all the time.
You can also tell yourself that you are awesome! You are beautiful! You are amazing!
Even if you don't believe these things in the beginning, keep saying them.
Later it will be easier and easier and you will believe what you say because it is true.
You are beautiful and amazing and awesome and full of life and a joy to be around. You are never alone! God loves you too! Jesus died for you because that's how much he loved you. I don't know you but if i did, i know i would love you too!
It might sound cheesy to some people but it's all true and God bless you. God bless all of you. Every part of you! You are a diamond in God's eyes and he wants you. He wants to be with you so he can comfort you when you are down and lonely. He doesn't need you, but instead he wants you. Jesus didn't need to die for our sins, but he did because he loved us.
He doesn't need any of us for him to still be God, but he truly wants us.
